3. (Bucketloads of) research
After you accept and sign the proposal, I’ll get to work.
Warning: I research a LOT. If you’re looking for a copywriter who cuts corners and skimps on research to get the job done, then I hate to break it to you, but I’m not your gal.
So how MUCH research?
First, I’ll send you a questionnaire, which will help me gain a better understanding of your brand and audience.
Then, I’ll interview you, your stakeholders and if you let me, your customers.
I’ll also do a bit of data mining and check out customer reviews, competitor reviews, Google Analytics, chat logs, and heat maps. I’ll spy on your competitors, do a bit of user testing and set up thank-you page interviews on your site.
Then comes the fun part: I’ll pull together and analyze all that voice-of-customer data (aka the backbone of the copy) until I find out things like the exact words your customers use and what they ACTUALLY think of your brand (the good, the bad, and the ugly).

5. Detailed website copy outline
Next, I’ll draft a detailed copy outline, which will include the main messaging and concepts for each page.
6. Sticky Website Copy
Now comes the fun part! As soon as you give me the green light, I’ll go ahead and craft the copy for your site.
7. Lottsa editing (aka Write and Wait)
Once I finish the first draft of Sticky Website Copy, I’m not done (far from it).
I have an iterative “Write and Wait”process that works a little something like this…
I let the first draft sit for a bit. Then I revisit it a few days later and edit.
I sleep on it some more….and a few days later, I come back to the copy and edit again.
I do that, over and over, until the copy is 100% fluff-free and stickier than bubble gum (but I’ll let you be the ultimate judge of that).
8. Wireframes & design direction
I’ll also hand over wireframes so you know what the copy will look like on your site and your designer won’t have to guess what goes where.
9. Unlimited revisions
Not sure if you’re gonna like the finished product? Don’t sweat it. I offer unlimited revisions up to one month after the copy is submitted.
My goal is for you and your team to be ECSTATIC with the finished product (and nothing less). Just like my previous clients…
